Sore Muscles and Ice

Workouts:  Tuesday - upper body, Wedensday - a little gentle yoga (sore!)

Holy cow, I'm sore!  Good sore.  Hurts-so-good sore.  I love this feeling - makes me think my muscles are growing even when I'm just sitting at my laptop.  And I had spinach for lunch so you can call me Popeye.

I just read an article in the New York Times Health section that says icing sore muscles doesn't really work.  No kidding - you can read it here.  While I occasionally take the odd Tylenol, mostly I just stretch through it.  Especially in January because who the heck wants to use ice when it's -150C outside.

I'm at a loss these days for something to read.  I've devoured almost every book that's caught my eye in the last few months from The Girl With The Dragon Tatoo series, to The Hunger Games, to The Paleo Solution for diet advice.....I'm out of ideas.  I could grab a classic (maybe re-read Pride and Prejudice?) or something heavy like The Scarlet Letter......nah, I don't think so.

The problem is that I spend way too much money on books.  It's an obsession, really.  Friends suggest that I should buy an electronic reader because books are cheaper, but I think the obsession might just take over my life.  I'd have no willpower or control.  Like chocolate ice cream.

When I think about it, it's not a bad problem to have in the big scheme of life, don't you think?

  1. Have you thought about your public library? Lots of people in North Bay swear by the public library. Once you are a member (usually free) there all sorts of perks.

  2. I would go to the library, but I took out a book 20 years ago and never returned it. Do you think they would charge me $1M in overdue book fines?

  3. OMG, you mean you are a nefarious bandit?

Well, since you likely would have had to present some sort of ID and they haven't tracked you down yet, it's likely you have been written off (snort, giggle).

Or you could away sign up using one of your first names.
