Golden Globe Sunday

Aren't awards shows just so entertaining?!!!    I just love everything about them.   Even my hub is propped up beside me pretending to read his ski magazine.   From the dresses, to the speeches, to the incredible host (ha!).   You have to admit, he IS funny.

Great weekend but holy snappin' it was cold.    Minus 29 degrees.    Yikers.   That is cold.   It's so cold that the smoke from the chimney's goes up and cuts an immediate 45 degree angle.   I kid you not.    Didn't stop me from getting out and doing some shopping though.     Saturday was the local thrift store.    Thrifting is a favorite pastime of mine.    I picked up a pair of skinny jeans, 4 sweaters and a book - all for $45!!    You just can't beat it!

Then today was a stop at Mark's Work Wearhouse for a white blouse (thanks to Jae's tip that they have great white blouses).     They have more than that!   (ouch on the budget!)

Here are a couple of things I picked up:

This shirt has beautiful french cuffs.

What I love about these is they are made "Curvy".     MWW has different fits (kind of like the Gap) and these fit perfectly because, well, apparently I'm "curvy".

Bought this in what I thought was Navy but the website says it's black.   Anyway, I'll have to check the bag again.   Bought it just a little big, so I can get a blouse underneath, or I can wear it kinda slouchy with some funky long jewellery.

I bought a few other sale items as well.

I decided that even though I'm not happy at this weight, I still have to look and subsequently feel good when I get dressed and head to work in the morning.     I think it's important to feel like you are well put together even though you aren't happy with the size.     I think if you look good, feel good, you are more apt to be good to yourself.    I know when I look like crap I feel like crap, and then usually treat and feed myself crap.

That's my excuse and I'm sticking to it!!

What do you think, do you agree with me about dressing well to feel good?
